In December 2019, we had the pleasure of working with Raquel Hamraqui from Porlamar Interiors, who came highly recommended as an interior designer. Our renovation project aimed to transform our kitchen into a fully wheelchair-accessible space, seamlessly integrating it with the family room, eating area, and house entry both functionally and aesthetically.

Raquel not only provided exceptional design services but also assumed the role of a Project Coordinator, overseeing the entire process. This included handling shopping for finishing materials, coordinating custom orders, managing deposits and payments, providing special instructions and adhering to timelines, and overseeing the delivery and installation of finishing materials. Her collaboration extended to working with our Design Engineer, Contractor, Occupational Therapist, and various product and service providers.

Drawing upon her extensive experience and vast network of contacts, Raquel demonstrated an excellent eye for aesthetics, ultimately saving us money, alleviating concerns, and expediting the project timeline. The high-quality result of our renovated space is a testament to her dedication and expertise.

Raquel's meticulous attention to detail is evident in the thoughtful design elements throughout our home. The ceiling, adorned with pot lighting, seamlessly extends through the entryway, kitchen, eating area, and family room. The carefully chosen colors for cabinets, countertops, backsplash, walls, and flooring create a bright and warm ambiance. Raquel played a pivotal role in connecting us with a kitchen cabinet company capable of manufacturing and installing specialized features, such as shelves under the oven and microwave and a wheelchair-accessible countertop support.
